Community Involvement
Habitat for Humanity
Atlanta Gas Light, in partnership with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, dedicated the first home in what will be an environmentally sustainable community in metropolitan Atlanta. For eight Saturdays, more than 125 Atlanta Gas Light volunteers helped to build this very special Habitat home. Watch the videos to learn more!
MUST Ministries
Atlanta Gas Light employees in the northwest metro region volunteer on a regular basis at MUST Ministries, a faith-based non-profit organization.
Volunteer efforts include collecting winter coats, organizing food drives to assist MUST in serving meals to the homeless and, most recently, coordinating a monthly sandwich-making session to help feed the homeless. Before work, Atlanta Gas Light volunteers bring their own food and supplies, prepare and then transport the sandwiches to MUST Ministries. Typically, they average approximately 200 sandwiches per session!
Career on Wheels
Employees brought an Atlanta Gas Light vehicle to Columbia Middle School’s Career on Wheels event, in which students could interact with a variety of career professionals.
Earth Month
Atlanta Gas Light employees celebrated Earth Month in April by taking part in nearly a dozen cleanup projects across our service territory.
March of Dimes
Employees and their families raised funds for the March of Dimes and participated in March for Babies walks in Hall County, Gwinnett County and metro Atlanta.
Relay for Life
Empoyees walked in a Relay for Life event in Atlanta that benefitted the American Cancer Society.
