Atlanta Gas Light Names New Manager for Southeast Service Area
January 8, 2001
ATLANTA, GEORGIA - Atlanta Gas Light Company (AGLC) has named Wendell Dallas manager of the company's southeast service area, which covers all of Georgia's coastal counties from Effingham through Charlton. Based in Savannah, Dallas will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the gas distribution system in southeast Georgia.
Dallas joined AGLC last April as manager of the company's central Georgia service area. With more than a decade of experience in the natural gas industry, Dallas comes to AGLC from El Paso Energy's Macon office, where he was an operations supervisor. In that role he was responsible for the operations of the natural gas transmission pipeline facilities in central Georgia. Previous to that Dallas was senior project engineer.
"Wendell brings a wealth of experience with him, which will be valuable to us as we seek to improve our service to customers while remaining committed to being an integral part of the community," said AGLC's Vice President of Operations Isaac Blythers.
Dallas is replacing Ralph Cleveland, who has been promoted to the position of Vice President - Operations and Engineering for Virginia Natural Gas, a division of AGL Resources (parent company of Atlanta Gas Light). Don Thomason will assume the position of interim manager for the central Georgia area.
A graduate of Auburn University, Dallas moved from Birmingham, Alabama a year ago and plans on becoming active in the community in southeast Georgia. While in Macon, he was active in the city's Keep Macon Beautiful program as well as the chamber of commerce and many other community-based organizations.
