Atlanta Gas Light Signs Accord With Operating Engineers Local 474September 1, 2004
SAVANNAH, Ga. – Sept. 1, 2004 – Atlanta Gas Light (AGL), a wholly owned subsidiary of AGL Resources (NYSE: ATG), and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 474 have signed a collective bargaining agreement that sets the terms for wages and working conditions for the next three years.
The local, which represents approximately 35 AGL field employees in Savannah, ratified the new agreement on Aug. 31. It became effective Sept. 1.
“This is a workable agreement that allows the company and the employees to work together to provide efficient, reliable service to our customers,” said Wendell Dallas, manager of AGL’s Savannah service region. “It sets parameters for continuing to work productively and constructively with Local 474 representatives and employees.”
AGL serves approximately 60,000 customers in Savannah.
