Atlanta Gas Light urges public to practice social distancing with field workers during COVID-19 pandemic

ATLANTA – April 10, 2020 – While impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) continue to evolve, we remain committed to our No. 1 value – Safety First.

As an essential business, our crews are continuing operations to ensure delivery of safe, reliable fuel to America’s homes and businesses throughout Georgia’s shelter-in-place order. We are committed to doing our part to keep you healthy, and we ask that you join us in our efforts to minimize exposure, too.

If you see our crews working in your neighborhood or area, please minimize any contact as they attempt to service natural gas equipment. Rather than raise your questions or concerns with our employees directly while they work, please call us at 800-427-5463 or email us at g2aglcustomercare@southernco.com.

We also ask that you minimize any contact with workers who may need to enter your home or business to perform work by maintaining a 6-foot distance and not shaking hands.

Please rest assured we are taking these precautionary actions – and all necessary hygiene precautions, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) including avoiding handshakes, maintaining a 6-foot distance and wearing protective gear, when necessary and appropriate – to maintain the good health of our employees, customers and the public.
