Talk with someone before I dig

Even with small projects, like planting trees and shrubs, it’s important to call us before you dig to make sure you’re not digging where there are gas lines or other utility lines. In Georgia, just dial 811 – or 800.282.7411 – to reach the Utilities Protection Center of Georgia. If you’re digging with mechanized equipment, the law requires you to call at least 48 hours before you dig.

Unsure if your home is already set up for natural gas?

Here's how to tell:

  • Do you get a monthly bill from one of these natural gas marketers?
  • Is there a meter on the inside or outside of your home?

If you answered "yes" to either one of those questions, then your home is already set up for natural gas. Just contact a marketer to get started.
