What are Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency rebates?

Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency rebates are available for the replacement of existing natural gas heating equipment with a qualified energy efficient natural gas furnace.

Energy efficient rebates include $300 for the installation of a new natural gas furnace with an efficiency rating of 92% to 94% and $400 for the installation of a new natural gas furnace with an efficiency rating of 95% or higher. These two rebate offers cannot be combined.

Energy efficiency rebate funds are limited; these rebates are valid while funds are available.

 

Who is eligible for Atlanta Gas Light rebates?

Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency rebates apply to qualifying new natural gas furnaces installed to replace existing natural gas heating equipment by a certified Georgia licensed contractor. Energy efficiency rebates are valid for residential service addresses only.

Atlanta Gas Light customers or qualified contractors are eligible to submit rebate applications. Customers at submitted service address must have a new active account or an established account in good standing with Atlanta Gas Light.

Offers are valid for existing customers in residential single-family homes in the Atlanta Gas Light service territory that were already using natural gas for space heating. A single-family home is defined for the purpose of this program as a free-standing residential dwelling structure that shares no common walls with other dwelling structures and where the area around the structure is for the private use of the structure’s owner.

What other criteria must be met to qualify for a rebate?

Online submission forms must be completed within 45 days of purchase or installation of qualifying product.

What supporting documentation is required for submission?

An installation invoice from a Georgia certified licensed contractor is the accepted form of supporting documentation. Atlanta Gas Light reserves the right to inspect the premises prior to payment.

Do dual fuel systems qualify for Atlanta Gas Light rebates?

No, dual fuel systems do not qualify.

What is the maximum annual rebate value per service address?

There is a limit of one Atlanta Gas Light rebate per appliance, and there is a limit of two Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency rebates in a ten-year period per service address.

The maximum annual rebate value per service address for all Atlanta Gas Light residential rebate promotions is $3,000.

Are rebate offers valid for new construction?

Offers are not valid for new construction. Offers are valid for existing customers in residential single-family homes in the Atlanta Gas Light service territory that were already using natural gas for space heating. A single-family home is defined for the purpose of this program as a free-standing residential dwelling structure that shares no common walls with other dwelling structures and where the area around the structure is for the private use of the structure’s owner.

How long will it take to receive my rebate?

Please allow at least eight weeks after your completed claim (including supporting documentation) is submitted to receive your rebate. An Atlanta Gas Light account must also be active at the submitted service address to receive your rebate.

UPGRADE to 95% or Higher Efficiency Furnace: $400

Rebate applies to qualifying high efficiency natural gas furnaces purchased from an authorized retailer and installed by a Georgia HVAC contractor licensed and certified to install natural gas furnaces. This offer is only valid for existing residential customers who have a current gas account in good standing with a Georgia certified natural gas marketer for whom Atlanta Gas Light provides natural gas service and who are replacing an existing natural gas furnace with an energy efficiency rating that is less than 92% with a new natural gas furnace with an energy efficiency rating that is equal to or greater than 92%. Dual Fuel Systems do not qualify. A link to the GA Public Service Commission website listing certified natural gas marketers may be found at atlantagaslight.com. Installation must be completed in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and building codes imposed by federal, state, and local authorities. Online rebate claim must be submitted within 45 days of installation of qualifying product. Supporting documentation must be submitted within 45 days of installation of qualifying product. No exceptions. Customers or HVAC dealers are responsible for submitting the rebate claim directly to Atlanta Gas Light within the timeframe established for the program. There is a limit of one Atlanta Gas Light rebate per appliance. There is a limit of two Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency rebates in a ten-year period per service address. Please allow at least eight weeks after your completed claim (including supporting documentation as required per offer) is received for your rebate to be processed. Rebates will be paid in U.S. dollars. Atlanta Gas Light is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, postage due, misdelivered or misdirected mail and incomplete or illegible submissions. All entries become the property of Atlanta Gas Light upon submission. Atlanta Gas Light reserves the right to withdraw or terminate this offer at any time upon reasonable notice posted on our website at www.atlantagaslight.com or by informing our retail and dealer partners and providing documentation that clearly communicates end dates for purchases. You must provide all the information requested in the online submission form and deliver supporting documentation as required in order to be eligible, including a copy of proof of purchase (receipt or invoice) and proof of installation (work order or receipt). Incomplete entries will not be processed and will not be returned. Atlanta Gas Light reserves the right to substantiate sales receipts, serial numbers and installation information, and to request additional documentation. Physical inspection for verification of claims may be required. Product may not be returned for full purchase price once the rebate has been fulfilled. Rebate will be fulfilled via a check. If a rebate check is not cashed within 90 days of check date, the rebate offer expires for such submission. By submitting a claim, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of the information contained in it, together with any information you may subsequently provide to us, to any person or entity for the purpose of processing this form or responding to your requests and for internal business purposes in accordance with our privacy policy.
