Atlanta Gas Light employees are proud to join Brookdale Resource Center in its mission to provide those who are experiencing homelessness with the resources they need to become self-sufficient. Fifteen volunteers from Atlanta Gas Light recently gathered to provide meals, maintain the facility and sort through donations at the center.
The National Alliance to End Homelessness has stated that, as of 2023, over 12,000 people in the state of Georgia experience homelessness on any given night making the Brookdale Resource Center a critical function of the Macon Bibb community. The Brookdale Resource Center has hosted over 1,700 residents since it opened.
Four years ago, Macon-Bibb County officials banded together to transform the former Brookdale Elementary School into the Brookdale Resource Center following the tragic death of two homeless men frozen to death due to winter conditions in 2020. Employees at the Brookdale Resource Center utilize the facility to provide transitional housing and equip residents with the necessary skills to secure stable housing.
Atlanta Gas Light is committed to delivering outstanding operational efficiency and fostering community growth. Our dedicated employees continuously seek opportunities to give back and partner with organizations to make a positive impact across our hometown communities year-round.
