Atlanta Gas Light team members are turning energy into action — bringing hope and joy to neighborhoods across Georgia. From donating clothes and distributing toys to championing programs that address food insecurity, employees are volunteering their time and talents to uplift the communities where we live, work and serve.
For the 15th consecutive year, employees collaborated with United Way of the Central Savannah River Area for its Empty Stocking Fund event in Augusta. Volunteers unloaded trucks filled with toys and distributed gifts to more than 1,700 children.
Organizers said volunteers were essential to the event’s success. “Their support provided the manpower that would have otherwise been impossible to secure on short notice,” said Jessi Fuchs, resource development manager for United Way of the CSRA.
Throughout the state, employees joined nonprofits such as Georgia Mountain Food Bank to distribute food and essential resources that promote health and well-being — and worked with other organizations to help families stay warm.
In Athens, employees donated nearly $1,000 worth of clothing to help underprivileged children in Madison County, partnering with the local school system and the Masonic Lodge of Madison County to make the effort possible.
Meanwhile, in Lawrenceville, volunteers collected and delivered 26 bags of clothing — including socks, pants, shirts, jackets and shoes — to Across the Bridge, a nonprofit that supports individuals on their journey to recovery and a fresh start.
Each year, Atlanta Gas Light employees continue the tradition of giving back through the annual Energy to Give campaign. Team members not only strive to exceed customer expectations — they also work with local partners to address the needs that matter most to communities.
