Honoring Heroes: Atlanta Gas Light volunteers deliver comfort kits to military veterans

Atlanta Gas Light has a long history of supporting servicemembers of the U.S. Armed Forces, and in the latest example, volunteers teamed up with the American Red Cross of Central Midwest Georgia to distribute comfort kits to military veterans.

Each comfort kit included essential personal care items such as toothbrushes, hand sanitizer, deodorant, tissues and reusable bags.

Nearly 20 volunteers worked alongside Red Cross representatives to organize, transport and distribute the kits across Atlanta Gas Light’s central region, including Griffin, Macon, Milledgeville and surrounding communities. In total, the team contributed more than 75 hours of volunteer service to the project.

Through its outreach, the American Red Cross of Central Midwest Georgia serves 21 counties and a population of approximately 500,000 people, delivering help and hope to neighbors in need.

That same commitment to service has inspired and fueled Atlanta Gas Light’s 170-year history. Beyond delivering clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy, the company continues to strengthen communities through volunteerism and working with organizations like the Red Cross, helping make a meaningful difference in the neighborhoods we serve.
