We strive to uplift and empower the areas where we live, work and serve through charitable giving and volunteer efforts that fuel possibilities, improve communities and grant access to sustainable resources. We are intentionally focused on initiatives that inspire new ways of connecting and transforming the communities where we operate.
We are committed to supporting local businesses as well as statewide economies through active participation in state and local chambers of commerce, business organizations and investment programs. Our Georgia SEED program is designed to attract and retain jobs in our state and encourage new investment by making large equipment upgrades more accessible to our commercial and industrial customers. Our pipeline replacement program stands as a model for utilities across the country and has seen an investment of more than $2 billion since 1998. And, as we bring renewable gas solutions to the market, we are helping to create local high-paying clean energy jobs and attracting new businesses that rely on natural gas in their manufacturing processes or in their products.

Through our charitable giving and volunteerism, we’re committed to strengthening the communities where we live and work. Our contributions focus on supporting, economic mobility, environmental stewardship and community enrichment.
We are intentionally focused on being a catalyst for positive impact in our communities and environment. That’s why we fund the good works of nonprofit partners that advance lives across Georgia. For example, in 2024 we gave $1 million to the American Red Cross to help bring its Community Adaptation Program to Chatham County, an area more at risk of the adverse impacts of natural disasters than 99% of all U.S. counties. CAP partners with trusted, local organizations specializing in health, hunger and housing to build resilience and mitigate the impact of disaster-caused displacement on the region’s most vulnerable populations.
Giving our time is another one of the many ways we honor our promise to support and uplift our communities. Our internal site, myIMPACT, makes finding volunteer opportunities easy. Through employee resource groups like EverGreen and annual volunteer campaigns called Energy to Serve and Energy to Give, we’ve planted pollinator gardens, cleaned up waterways and run food, clothes and school supply drives to meet the urgent needs of our local communities. In 2024, more than 260 Atlanta Gas Light employees gave over 1,400 hours in service to local nonprofits.
